If you’re at the Golden Crown Literary Society Conference this year, here’s where you can find me! 💙 Wednesday: 2:45 PM: I’m a panelist for Rethinking Power: World-building without Patriarchy. 4:00 PM: I’ll be reading from Goddess of the Sea (Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons: Book 2) for the Author Spotlight. 5:15 PM: I’ll be signing […]

On the last day of Disability Pride Month, I’m here to remind you, as a fantasy author with multiple disabilities, the idea that disabled people can’t be in fantasy is silly (and harmful). Both main characters of my Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons series have disabilities, as do some of their friends, parents, and mentors, and […]

You may have noticed that I’ve been quiet for a few months. If you follow me on social media, you know there’s a reason for that. The most I feel comfortable saying is that some awful things happened in my personal life this year that triggered PTSD from past abuse and multiple suicidal episodes. And […]

April is Autism Acceptance Month, which means it’s time (almost past time) for my annual reminder that autistic people come in all shapes and sizes—including that of a dragon-riding surgeon. 🖤🐉🖤 Emilia Drakon, the protagonist of my Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons series, is autistic (like me), and though she deals with communication and sensory obstacles […]

Every year, I try to say a little about why lesbian visibility is so important to me—as a lesbian and as a lesbian author. I’m not exactly in the state of mind that I like to be in when I talk about these things, but I’m going to try, anyway. 🧡 I spent much of […]

Sent this too you through FB messenger, but figured you couldn’t see it because we are not friends.
Good morning! Didn’t want to bother you with a friend request, but wanted to make sure you got this. I just finished Goddess of the Sea. I can’t tell you how much I admire and appreciate that beautiful mind of yours. I love fantasy and your world building and character building just blows me away. I love the interplay between Maria and Em, cause it’s so natural. All of it is. Both of the books have been spell-binding so far. I had to keep forcing myself to put them down so I could get some sleep. Your writing style is phenomenal. Your attention to detail makes the characters so believable, and their slow healing of each other takes my breath away. It makes me want to be right there on that ship, enjoying watching them day after day. I know everyone says they can’t wait for the next book, but every book from you is worth the wait, so I’ll be patient. Hope your day is wonderful and thank you for giving us this world, fantasy, pirates and the best part….lesbian pirates!!! Take care!
