Goddess of the Sea (Lesbians, Pirates, and Dragons: Book 2) has reached its second little milestone: two hundred reviews and ratings on Amazon. 💙
Thank you so much for
reviewing—and for sharing in Em and Maria’s journey. 💙💙💙💙

Having a girlfriend with dragons is fun. Usually. 😅

Also, this last week was Pirates week on I Heart SapphFic, and Pirates of Aletharia (Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons: Book 1) was one of the featured books! 💙🏴☠️💙
You can find a whole list of sapphic pirate books, along with wartime romances, here:
I think I’ll be back with a couple of updates this week, but until then, I hope you have the best week possible. 💙
Em has five dragons. Maria has…Em. 🐉

This snippet from Goddess of the Sea (Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons: Book 2) fit the #lesficfri theme: “finger.”

This week, I also want to thank everyone who voted for Pirates of Aletharia in the recent I Heart SapphFic poll! It was voted first in best sapphic dragon books. 💚💚💚💚💚
Congratulations also to J.C. Rycroft and Emily Noon! 💚
You can see all three books here:
I hope you’re having a wonderful week. 💚
For those who’ve finished Goddess of the Sea already, I’m dying to know…which dragon is your favorite? 💙
(So far.)

The theme for this last week’s #lesficfri was “sorry,” and this scene from Goddess of the Sea (Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons: Book 2) was the one that came to mind. So, here’s our captain refusing to let Em apologize for her PTSD.
Try not to feel shame over your mental health this week. It’s been a hard one. 💙

Release month for Goddess of the Sea (Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons: Book 2) has ended, and in the midst of migraines, anxiety, and a kid’s ear infection, I have thoroughly failed promote it. (Not that I’ve ever been good at promoting anything. 😅)
But my author copies came in, and I wanted to share them with you! 💙
It’s always magical to see the words that occupied my heart and mind for so long printed on the pages of a book—to hold them and touch them. 💙
It can be hard to focus on the magic, though, when I’m exhausted and my head’s all full of fear and doubt. But actually…that’s when it’s most important. Right? 💙

Also, my thank you post for Goddess of the Sea reminded me that it’s been a while since I did one for Book 1, and since it recently passed 1,300 reviews & ratings on Amazon, it felt like a good time for a new one. 💙
So, thank you for every review you’ve left on Amazon, Audible, and everywhere else. You’re amazing, and I’m eternally grateful for you all. 💙

P.S. – From the time I wrote this to the time I went to share it, the world already feels like a darker place. To all of you who are here in the U.S., I’m sending so much love today. I wish I had words, but all I can feel is fear right now. I hope you’re all right—as much as you can be, anyway. 💙

Every book release leaves me feeling so vulnerable, but this one was the hardest thus far. I don’t have enough words for how much your support for this book means to me. But thank you. 💙💙💙💙💙

Goddess of the Sea (Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons: Book 2) is out! 💙
🏳️🌈 lesbian pirates (obviously)
🏴☠️ healing from trauma
🐉 dragon-riding
🐈 the best slayer of rats
⚔️ (more) flirty sword-fighting
⚓️ a certain navy admiral and her games
🧜♀️ sirens
🐙 one gullible kraken
🌊 sapphic sea goddess
I really hope you enjoy it! 💙

P.S. – The paperback should also go live any time now, if it hasn’t already. They don’t give me a specific time for it. It’s just whenever they put it through. 💙
Have I ever shown you my world-building notebooks? Some of them are pretty! (On the outside, where I haven’t scribbled.)
If they seem excessive, keep in mind I started building Aletharia years before I started writing Book 1. (And okay, maybe I’m a bit obsessive about these things, too. 😅)
With the first book, I didn’t think an appendix was necessary because Em was our only magic-wielder, and I figured it was self-explanatory that Em being a healer meant she wielded healing magic, not combat magic.
The second book, however, explores more of Em’s side of Aletharia, which means it includes more magic-wielders and magical creatures. I still wrote it with the goal of you not needing an appendix, but during my final rewrite, I decided to add one, just in case.
So, I went to work at trying to reduce my many disorganized notebooks into a few short appendices. If you’ve ever condensed a lot into a little, you know it’s easier said than done. 😅 In the end, I’d condensed them into four appendices, which I then added to the new book.
So, if you need the extra details (or if you’re like me and just enjoy them), you’ll be able to find them at the end of your book. 💙

P.S. – The blue parchment notebook was my original visual inspiration for Maria’s captain’s log—though hers is brown and…less pretty. 😂

And for anyone who might’ve missed it, ebook and print editions of Goddess of the Sea will be available any time now at this link:
